Marketing Interventions to Ensure Remunerative Prices of Pulses, Oil seeds and Coarse cereal grains AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT GOVERNMENT OF GUJARAT Group - IV

Incremental growth in Agricultural production depends on interventions related to;  Backward linkages (input subsidies, incentives)  Forward linkages (market interventions) Although huge incentives on input side, production of pulses, coarse cereals not taken up if proper market is not there. If market facilities will strengthen, production may rise due to surety of market. Thus, it directly facilitate to farmers to grow more pulses, coarse cereals and oilseeds. (specially in pre dominant areas of pulses & coarse cereals)

Steps taken for market awareness as under;  Training hall facilities at different APMCs.  Display of electronic display board at village/ taluka level for market rate.  Training to Secretaries and other office bearers of APMCs for better management of handling of agricultural commodities.  Meetings with farmers for opt the crops based on market intelligence data.  Promotion of value addition through providing incentives for agro processing units, i.e. mini dal mill, oil mill etc. Thanks
