Field Roles and Responsibilities and Safety
Umpires Responsibilities Make sure you show up 15 minutes prior to the start of a game. You must bring ball/strike indicator and brush to each game Wear your shirts in clean condition. Shirts must be tucked in. Introduce yourself before each game and go over “ground rules” with both managers 5 minutes prior to the start of a game. Conduct yourselves in a positive and professional manor. Work together to get the right call Managers are there to help you.
Responsibilities of Umpires Home team is responsible for having the field matt dragged prior to the game starting. If the field has not been matt dragged please remind the home team manager that the field needs to be matt dragged. If you are having trouble seeing the baselines please ask one of the managers to line the field. Perform a visual safety check of the field for any broken glass, pot holes etc. Equipment shed is to be locked after your game is complete. Shed combination is 0202
Game Coordinator Little League baseball now requires that an adult Game Coordinator be present at all games where the umpire is less than 18 years of age (BB Div AA & AAA). The Game Coordinator… Will oversee conduct of players, manager, coaches and umpires during the game. Enforce safety issues that may arise during the game Has the authority to disqualify any player, manager, coach, for objecting to umpire decisions or for unsportsmanlike conduct. Has the authority to suspend a game due to inclement weather or unfit playing conditions
Safety Equipment and Fields –Broken equipment must be removed from play –Bats must be appropriately marked “BPF 1.15” –Approved Composites…list maintained on –Male umpires should wear a cup for games assigned for the plate Playing Conditions –Be aware of hazards associated with heat, and inclement weather –Remember to bring water on warm days. Equipment There will be a rule book and ball bag and brush in each shed. They must be returned to the box after each game. Remember to wear a belt if you are assigned home plate!! Lock combination is: 0202
Scheduling and payment
2015 Spring schedules Softball and Baseball– 14 game regular season. Regular Season: 4/21 to 6/10 – Regular season game schedules will be available in April. Post Season: Begins on 6/14 with Championship Saturday 6/21
2013 introduces a new website Login to Check the times and days you are available To View your Schedule: Select Umpire Areas from the menu on the left Login with and password that you used when you completed the registration process Across from Officials Area title Select Options dropdown arrow and select my schedule You will see any games you are scheduled to work
Assignments I will be assigning games 10 days out because of the limited blackout options. You MUST accept games based on your availability with 24 hours. By tomorrow night, you must fill our your availability/blackout for next week. On Saturday, I will be assigning next weeks games for Monday April 27 th - Saturday,May 2. On Tuesday, I will be assigning games for the week of May 4 th. Every Tuesday, the following weeks schedule will be created which means, once the new schedule comes out you can change/edit your blackout calandar.

League Rules Please refer to the rule books of your respective Leagues: Bylaws of each division will be ed to you before the start of the season
Coaches Conduct Philosophy of Fair Play CYB/S is “We” not “They.” Do not expect perfection. An umpire will make mistakes. It is OK to explain a mistake to an umpire but you may NOT question a judgement call. No calling out things like “Nice Pitch!!”
