Our teachers are certificated by Alberta Learning and are accredited by a Montessori Teacher Training Centre To become a Montessori Teacher, requires intelligence; enthusiasm; dedication; sensitivity and faith in the child’s development. The Montessori teacher is a skilled observer.

Materials that are unique Within Montessori classrooms, there is a delicate balance between choice and responsibility. Some characteristics are: Mentoring opportunities A global perspective Grace and courtesy Progression from concrete to abstract Evidence of Alberta curricular outcomes

Tracking systems for individual children Classroom interviews between teacher and child Both formal and informal assessment tools

School visits Classroom observation Additional reading

Independent learners Responsible citizens Critical and creative thinkers Effective communicators in multiple literacies Collaborative problem solvers Effective preparation for life, work and further learning

Parents Play An Important Role In Our Program Informed decision making creates a strong program Participation and support through materials creation provides a wide variety of choice within the classroom Parent education supports the program and student learning
