What We’ll be Covering Blogs –What they are? –How to create one for your library MySpace & Facebook –How to use these social networking tools to reach your students

Blogs Do you know what a blog is? –Blogs are like web pages except they are easier to edit. With a little practice, anyone can add material to a blog!

Blogger If you are not familiar with blogs, I suggest you try Blogger— Blogger is a web- based tool that helps you publish to the web instantly

Blog Software There are a lot of different types of blog software available. Some are free, others require a subscription. Some examples are: –Expression Engine [IUSB uses] ( –Moveable Type ( and Typepad ( [same company] –Blogger ( (free) –WordPress ( –LiveJournal ( free version)

Final Thought on Blogs Hardest part, as with any new technology, is not so much the technology as creating consistently good material to put up on it
