Outline What are the four main types of teeth? What is primary teeth and name the twenty primary teeth. Discuss. Identifying the teeth and their names.

What are the four main types of teeth Incisors Cuspids Bicuspids Molars

Incisors Location: In the front and center of the mouth. Shape: broad, sharp edge. Use: Used to cut or bite food with their thin edges. Extra info: Central incisors are in the center. lateral incisors are on the sides of the centrals. elizabeth

Cuspids Location: At angles of lips. Shape: longest teeth in mouth. anchored with the longest root, one pointed cusp. Use: used to tear food and hold food. Extra info: also called canines, or eyeteeth. Elizabeth

Bicuspids Location: located before the molars, from front to back. Shape: a bifurcated root, all others have one root, one prominent cusp with one or two lesser lingual cusps. Use: used to pulverize or grind food. Maxillary first premolars have a bifurcated root. They also can hold food. Extra info: also called premolars. roxana

Molars Location: Teeth in the back of the mouth. Shape: largest strongest teeth. Use: used to chew and grind food. Extra info: The third molars are the farthest teeth in the mouth roxana

Primary/ Deciduous, teeth This is the first set of teeth. Also called baby teeth. Its very important to maintain your primary teeth because if you don't it can and will affect your permanent teeth. Josh
