SWIM MEET SCHEDULE *There are 5 in season meets Monday November 17th TAC... we are the 7pm Tuesday December 9th 7pm Tuesday December 16th at 5pm Tuesday January 5pm Thursday January 7pm

DIVE MEETS There are 3 in season dive meets If we have a diver you are required to attend 1 dive meet in order to letter. *If the diver is a girl…you must attend the womans dive meet *If the diver is a male…you must attend the mens dive meet. **If we have both a male and a female…You must stay for the entire meet. **In addition if you are a diver…you must attend 1 swim meet.

PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS 1. Arrive on deck 15 minutes prior to swim time. Example: We practice from 3-4…Please be on deck at 245pm (This means you must leave immediately after school. I DO TOO) 2. Have all the necessary equipment Cap, goggles, water bottle…kick board and fins if you have them. 3. The team stretches together. No exceptions 4. Be ready to enter the water, FEET first, when practice starts.

PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS CON’T 1.Practice is Monday – Friday from Dry land is Tues-Thurs 6am – 645am * You may use the locker room to shower and change…If you have a car… and decide to go home….”Really QUICK”…it is your responsibility to make it back by first block ON TIME. I will NOT give you a pass to class because you “WERE LATE DUE TO PRACTICE”… LOL NOT MY FAULT

YEAR ROUNDER’S In the past Year rounder’s were not required, asked or forced to swim with MCHS swimmers during the week. THIS WILL CHANGE. You will be required to attend the practice before the meet. REASON: This will help me go over important meet information, explain last minute changes (which I do not like to make) and any other game day decisions. CONSEQUENCE: you will NOT SWIM at the MEET. ***MY DEEPEST APOLOGIES.*** We are a team…we need to feel like one.

SPORTSMANSHIP *Profanity, derogatory comments, and other intimidating words or actions directed at the officials, student- athletes, coaches, team representatives, or other spectators will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. **In addition if we are sited…The team must pay $400 before we swim again….and the swimmer must take a sportsmanship course through NCHSAA. The player is subject to ejection as well as the coach….Lets just say the right words.

AT MEETS You are to wear a black cap MCHS cap. If you do not have a cap wear a black cap. Swimmers can wear whatever cap they want for practice, but at meets we need to have a team cap. We are proud of who we are and this helps us look more like a team when we all have our team cap on. DONTS…The cap can not have two logos…They will make you turn your cap around. DON’T wear two swim suits. DON’T Change on deck DON’T shave on deck or bathroom

TEAM DINNERS The team dinners will be held on Thursdays this year… Dates include: 11/13 11/20 12/4 12/11 1/8 * this will be the last dinner. **team dinners are held in the media center. This is a bonding time and place where we can talk about the successes of the meet. It is important that YEAR ROUNDERS and MCHS athletes come to the dinners.

END OF THE SEASON BANQUET End of the Season Banquet will be in March Looking at 14t h / 21 st Watch for a Flyer with more details.

NO PRACTICE DATES 1. November th (Thanksgiving) *We will practice the day before…Sometimes the time gets moved to earlier…Then you can get out of town. 2. PARENT VOLUNTEERING All parents are encouraged to get involved and take an active role in making the MCHS Swimming program a fun and rewarding experience. If you’ve been swimming for a while parents know that it is heavily reliant on parent volunteers. Please encourage parents…and they will read this again at the parent meeting…to VOLUNTEER.

PARENT VOLUNTEERING CONTINUED Some of the activities that the parents organizes include: Team Dinner Officiating Stroke and Turns *Fundraising **Water and Gatorade and snacks at meets.
