Where do they live? Jaguars live in South America and Mexico .The jaguar lives in swampy places near rivers and lakes .The female will live by its self and its cubs the male lives by its self.

What do they eat? Jaguars eat snakes, rodents, caimans ,rats ,badgers ,monkeys ,birds and fish. A jaguar kills its prey in one bite. They are the biggest meat eating animal.

How fast are jaguars? Jaguars run about 35.6 miles per hour. The jaguar is not built for speed it’s built for attack. Jaguars are thick and bulky with very strong legs.

How long do they live? They can live about 20 years .They are endangered for about 7 years . The jaguar that lived the longest was 26 years old .

What they look like They are black and sometimes are brown with spots .The black ones have brown spots under the black. They are very beautiful animals.

Can they swim Yes jaguars can swim . Jaguars are very good swimmers they swim and catch there prey . They are also very good swimmers they love to swim to cool off.

Are they a type of cat Yes they are a type of cat .Not the type of cat you have at home but a wild cat .Some cats are big and some are small.

Growing up A baby jaguar stays with it’s mother for 2 years or more .The cubs very close to there mother .There mom is very protective .

Fun facts The Arizona is the largest most powerful wild cat . The cat jaguar is one of the great cats . They are endangered people hunt them for fur . Jaguars favorite thing is something rotten or stale .
