Job Description Lifeguards are there to ensure a safe day at the pool or beach. They prevent accidents before they happen. For example, if they see horse-play they stop it right away. They explain the rules to new swimmers and enforce them to returning ones. They save the drowning and ones who can’t swim. Lifeguards take a certain training course to know what to do in case of emergency.

Things Lifeguards Must Know How to Swim CPR Mouth to Mouth Teach Swimming Lessons First-Aid Rescue Skills Caring for Head or Neck Injuries

Education Becoming a lifeguard is simple! Must be 15 years of age Take the lifeguard course Pass the lifeguard course

Salary Salaries can vary depending on location, experience, and level of training. May earn anywhere between minimum wage to $14 an hour. Lifeguards who work full-time, all year round may earn anywhere from $16-$27 an hour. Beach lifeguards generally earn more than pool lifeguards due to more responsibilities.

Job Outlook Kids will always swim in pools and on beaches. When technology improves there may be more need to watch the children and ensure their safety. Sdmylife.com predicted that the demand for lifeguards will increase.
