ERWC Module 2: River Rights: Whose Water Is It?

Unit Goal Write a persuasive essay that compares two author’s arguments on the issues of water rights, and discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with his analysis. Use ethos, pathos, logos to support your position, providing reasons and examples from your own experience, observations, or reading. Today’s Objective: Students will develop background on the topic of the unit by completing a circle map, completing Cornell Notes on Video by Surfrider Foundation which analyzes the video’s argument and evidence.

Reflection What kind of reason(s) would make this change in water usage more acceptable? Describe the different ways that you use water throughout the day. H20 USAGE Who would you want to decide this? (A popular vote/state legislature/governor?) What would you cut if you were told that you and your family had to use half as much water as you usually use? How would you adjust your water consumption?
