INTEL CORE I3, INTEL CORE I5, INTEL CORE I7  Intel Core i3  Intel Core i5  Intel Core i7  Core i3 vs i5 vs i7  Conclusion

CORE I3

 Codenamed: Clarkdale (Westmere)  Bus: Direct Media Interface replacing FSB( Front Side Bus)  The Intel Core i models are dual-core, built on a 22 nanometer process.  They have Hyperthreading, but do not have Turbo Boost Technology. Hyperthreading Turbo Boost  They have built-in graphics processors.  Clock speeds : 2.93 to 3.06 GHz.  Cache : 2X256 KB L2 and 4MB L3

Continue… Hyper Threading  It is a technology used by Intel to simulate more cores than actually exist on the processor.  It also improves performance when using programs that make good use of multi- threading.

Continue… Turbo boost  Turbo Boost is kind like a safe way to overclock your processor.  It makes your computer go a lot faster when you need it  Turbo Boost gives you extra speed when you need it. It’s on the i5 and i7, but the i7 is so powerful you really don’t need it.  Turbo Boost enhances the speed of our computers.

CORE I5

 Codenamed: Lynnfield (Nehalem), Clarkdale (Westmere)  The Intel Core i models are quad-core, built on the 22 nanometer process (for better power efficiency).  They have Turbo Boost technology, but no Hyperthreading.  They have built-in graphics processors based on the HD Graphics 2500 and 4000 architectures.

Continue…  Core i5 has a better processor, high performance, fast accessing speeds.  Bus: Direct Media Interface  Core i5 has two cores. 1. Dual Core (similar to Core i3) II. Quad Core (Much Closer to Core i7)

Continue… DualCore Core i5 :  Architecture : Clarkdale (Westmere)  BUS : DMI  Clock Speeds : 3.2 to 3.6 GHz.  Cache : 2x256 KB L2 and 4MB L3

Continue…  Has Integrated Graphics Processor.  Include Turbo Boost.  Supports Hyper Threading.

Continue… Quad Core i5  Architecture : Lynnfield (Nehalem)  BUS : DMI  Four Processors with Clock Speeds of 2.4 and 2.66 GHz.

Continue…  Cache : 4x256 KB L2 and 8MB L3  Supports Turbo Boost.  Don’t support Hyper Threading and have No Integrated Graphics Processor.

CORE I7

 Codenamed: Bloomfield (Nehalem)  Bus: Quick Path Interconnect  RAM: DDR3  Cache : 4x256 KB L2 and 8MB L3

Continue…  They offer the best Performance.  They support Turbo Boost and Hyper Threading.  Don’t have an Integrated Graphics Processor.

Continue…  They have Quick Path Interconnect (QPI) which is faster than both DMI in Core i3/i5 and FSB.  The Intel Core i7 has four processor cores inside of it.

Continue…  This means that the i7 can run multiple programs at once more efficiently than the dual core.  Also, the i7 is hyper threaded.

CORE I3 VS I5 VS I7  Performance: Besides being multi-core, Hyper Threading technology combined with the Turbo Boost makes i3, i5 and i7 to be computing power houses.  For gaming: Core i7 processors win hands due to their phenomenal processing power.

Continue…  Raw power: Even Core i5’s are good enough but if you want raw power then its good to go for i7.  Core i7 is much faster due to the QPI (quick path interconnect), Hyper Threading and Turbo Boost.

THE END
