Academic Support Available to All HCC Students at All Campuses Mission: In support of HCC’s mission, we provide a learning environment, resources, and services designed to empower students to become successful, independent learners.

SERVICESRESOURCES  Helpful tutors in the following subject areas:  Writing, Reading, EAP/ESL, Math, Foreign Language, Sciences, Computer Science, Business/Finance  Workshops designed to increased academic success  Computers and printers for HCC work  Textbooks (courses vary)  Writing and research guides  Manipulatives  Assistive technology and tools

 97% of students were satisfied with HCC Writing Centers (#1 highest rated service!).  95% of students were satisfied with Success Centers (overall) (#3 highest rated service!). —2011 HCC Institutional Research

 91.8% of faculty members were satisfied with the quality of work in the writing and reading success centers.  90.9% of faculty members were satisfied with the quality of work in the math success centers. —2011 HCC Institutional Research

 Encourage students to visit us early and often  Invite us for a brief classroom visit  Schedule a tour of the ASC  Include a description of our services in your syllabus  Distribute copies of your ASC’s workshop and seminar calendar  Offer incentives for attending tutoring/workshops

 Talk to us if your students need support (whether they’re getting it or not)  Suggest resources that would be beneficial for your students  Provide us with your  syllabi  lecture schedule  textbooks and solutions manuals

 Consider us as part of a service learning component  Present at an ASC training session  Develop a study skills or subject area workshop for students  Co-plan contests, activities, or events  Pilot new programs with us
