In order to be sure that almost all applications that are going to be send in Brussels will be approved we established double check system Main coordinative role is in the Secretariat for European Affairs (SEA). Eligible institutions identified needs, fill the applications form and than they are sending to SEA.

Government of the Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs When we received the application in SEA, am sending to the NPAA coordinator in SEA to check the importance of this request and to see if it fill appropriate After that we are sending in the ECD In ECD task managers are making double check and sending the application in Brussels

Government of the Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs The result of this double check system from 2004 until now is: 32 study visits requested, 27 approved 81 expert mission requested, 79 approved 53 seminars requested, 53 approved In total more than 2500 Macedonian participants participated in TAIEX events Waiting for answers for 71 applications The statistic is made by the data base that we have in SEA. Also to have more precise data base all invitations are send to the participants via SEA

Government of the Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs How do we raising the awareness and how we manage to increase the number of requested applications: While we are in the programming process of IPA, and we are making the priorities with crossed analyses, everything that come out as a legislation that has to be aligned with the acquis, we are trying to solved with concrete TAIEX application (study visit, workshop or expert mission)

Government of the Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs SEA prepared and on the Government session was adopted Act for communication with EC and ECD in which we stated the procedure for applying for TAIEX On the regular base we are preparing Information for Government session where we stated the status and what’s next Also on the beginning of the year we ask beneficiary institution to send us needs for the coming year

Government of the Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs With support from EC and ECD: 4 TLO were nominated in the area of agriculture, veterinary, phitosanitary and food safety and have the first meeting in Brussels on 24 April 2008 and the second one on 17 and 18 of February 2009 In September 2008 after EC defined that we are wick in the area of justice and home affairs, in SEA we organise two day event where we have representatives from EC, ECD, SEA and a lot of institutions from Macedonia dealing with JHA

Government of the Republic of Macedonia Secretariat for European Affairs As we agree on the event we are expecting TLO to be established in the area of JHA One day event in the ECD in Skopje, for presenting status of Twinning and TAIEX to the final beneficiary In the next period Macedonian representatives will attend several events organised by EC in the area of JHA Regional events are important – Macedonian on that events can see where is Macedonia compeering with the other countries
