“Come Over Into Macedonia And Help Us” Acts 16:9

“Come Over Into Macedonia And Help Us”  Troas was a city on the northwestern coast of Mysia in Asia Minor.  Troas was the place where Paul received the vision in the night, with a request to come over into Macedonia.

Acts Starts Here

 Troas was also the place where Paul had “a door opened unto me in the Lord.” (Third preaching journey)… 2 Cor. 2:12-13; cf. 2 Cor. 11:28  Troas was also the place where Paul left his cloak, some books, and parchments. 2 Tim. 4:13  Troas was also the place where he met with the disciples to break bread upon the first day of the week. Acts 20:5-7

Acts Starts Here Come help us!

 Philippi, was as Troas, a Roman colony, in the province of Macedonia.  It was on the main road, Via Ignatia, from Thessalonica to Constantinople.  There was no Jewish synagogue in Philippi.  So, seemingly, prayer meetings were held by the riverside and in other places around the city. Acts 16:13,16  It was at one of these meetings that the gospel was preach, believed, and obeyed. Acts 16:13-15

A.The need of spreading the gospel today is just as important as it was when Paul received the appeal in a night vision long ago. B.Just as the civil, social, economical, and religious conditions had their effect upon the preaching of the gospel in Paul’s day, so it does today as well. Conclusion: The expansion of the gospel depends upon all of us....!
