Three Weeks ‘Til Tournament Time…What do I do?” Keep working! Remember the goals of Odyssey of the Mind - team work; creativity; persistence, etc. Long Term (200 points): - Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse…. - Keep reading the problem - Check clarifications often - Hint: Watch You Tube videos - Remember…only 8 minutes * Penalty for going over in Pandora’s Box and Silent Movie Have you chosen your Style items? (50 points) - 2 identified items - 2 “Free Choice” - Overall effect 2

Three Weeks ‘Til Tournament Time…What do I do?” Spontaneous (100 points): Practice, practice, practice… - Hands On - Verbal - Combination - Identify which team members will do each problem Don’t forget your forms (Team required list/Style/Cost/Outside Assistance) We need a team sign?? Communicate with parents (tournament schedule/lunch/snacks) Where did our props go? Hmmm…..who is our judge rep and volunteer rep? 3

Tournament Day…It’s Show Time!! Expect organized chaos! Manage team and parent expectations Long term logistics - Arrive at least 1 hour ahead - Be careful with your props, costumes, backdrops, etc. - Parents/family/friends can help transport - Check-in/Staging Judge/forms - “Team are you ready? Team begin!” 4

Tournament Day…It’s Show Time!! Long term logistics (continued) - Team members communicate with Problem and Style Judges - Move that stuff out! - Celebrate their performance - Scores available approx. 30 minutes after the performance 5

Tournament Day…It’s Show Time!! Spontaneous Logistics - Arrive 25 minutes ahead - Warm-up problems - Check-in Holding Room Competition - “What problem did you do??” - Scores available at the end of the tournament 6
