What is the NRI model?
It is both a process and the result of an organized effort in a community, based upon shared vision of the quality of life they wish to achieve, leading toward greater—and sustainable—individual and collective well-being. SCHFH’s definition of community development
We will: Work in a distinct, definable community. Assume a humble, listening posture with the community. Respect and honor those who speak on behalf of the community. Recognize that housing is one component of a revitalization strategy, contextualized to the community. Endeavor to make a multi-year commitment. Commit to a process of monitoring and evaluation for accountability. Core tenets of community development at SCHFH
