Packaging Project Net construction This is an example of constructing a net of a complex shape (Hexagonal based pyramid) using a compass drawing equipment and a degree set square.

60mm

100mm diameter

30 degrees

Use degree set square to draw the hexagon

120mm

Join the end of the 120mm line to the sides of the hexagon

Draw an arc by placing the compass point at the apex of the triangle and opening the compass to the end of the side

Use your compass to mark off five more lengths the same as one side of the hexagon Start from here

Join the bases to the apex

Draw in tabs at 10mm wide
