Stage 1: Egg
Stage 1: Egg The eggs hatch in spring. The swan hatches six eggs. The mom sits on the eggs for five weeks.
Stage 2: Cygnet
Stage 2: Cygnet The cygnet has down feathers that keep it warm. The cygnet has gray feathers and a black beak. It takes one year for the cygnet to grow new white feathers.
Stage 3: Swan
Stage 3: Swan Swans have an air sack inside their body to help them float. The swan has white, and black feathers and also an orange beak. Swans live in rivers and lakes.
