Wacky Cell Theory!! wH9DU&feature=youtube_gdata_player&s afe=active

So What is the Cell theory? 1) All living things are made of 1 or more cells 2) The cell is the basic unit of structure and organization in living things 3) Cells come from other cells

Anton Van Leewenhoek * first microscope * first to look at small cells (bacteria/blood….) (Looked at little things)

Robert Hooke Looked at cork cells Hooked the term “cell”

Matthias Schleiden PLANTS are made of cells

Theodore Schwann Animals are made of cells Schwann nerve cell named after him (Schwann like Swan, swan is an animal)

Rudolph Virchow Cells come from other cells

Leewenhoek looked at little things Hooke, hooked the term of the cell Schwann like a swan looked at animals Schleiden, the other guy, looked at plants Virchow came along with victory, Saying cells come from cells, now you see That’s the history of the cell theory.
