12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It Outline What we are doing and why What we did How we did it After one year, a summary Discuss: What you can do

12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It What we are doing and why CLP is a result of SCV Section’s Corporate Relationship Initiative. Goal is to have a formalized way to build relationships with our corporate citizens. –vs. ad-hoc or nothing at all –The intent is a Long Term effort! My tenure as CS Chapter Chair alerted me to the difficulty of find meeting venues. We recognized this as a wider issue and an ongoing need.

12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It What we did in Liaisons (& contacts) found by Kick-off 14 companies attended our Kick-off Liaison lunch event in November, 2013! –We presented the Liaison Program –We presented our Section & Chapters –Opportunity: GHTC & SIGHT –Opportunity: Student Conference (~April) –Opportunity: TMC involvement –Q&A Liaisons wanted quarterly events! ALL Event info at: – (Case Sensitive)

12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It What we did, 2013 (cont.) Kick-off luncheon 11/21/13 Companies with Liaisons (or contacts):

12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It How we did it (cont.) We asked for, and got feedback: –Consensus for Quarterly meetings –Regular IEEE s OK (1-2/mo.) –Nearly 100% found value, would return –Student Conference generated lot of interest (Case Sensitive)

12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It Continuing from Kick-off mtg We continued with quarterly lunch events We expanded the target Liaison list to include: –Texas Instruments –Microsoft –Marvell –Micron –Agilent –TSMC –Citrix –LinkedIn –Juniper Networks –Qualcomm –Broadcom –HGST (West. 12-CRS /12 IEEE Region Training 1/25: CLP: How We Did It Challenges Many are just contacts, not committed, long term liaisons. Many/most are not well connected in co. as we hoped. Attendance: due to travel and meetings highly encourage alternates! Finding compelling collaborations to report that will have wide interest.
