Climate effect of BC and OC aerosol from IPPC UNECE-CLRTAP and EMEP Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling 27th session, Oslo, May 2002

Work carried out at Laboratoire d ’aérologie Construction of a worldwide fossil fuel BC and OC emissions inventory from 1950 to 1997, and projections : - mobile sources - stationnary sources - biomass burning... Global modelling of the transport, wet and dry deposition, and of radiative impact with the TM3 model UNECE-CLRTAP and EMEP Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling 27th session, Oslo, May 2002

Past trend of Direct Radiative Forcing due to BC and total OC (july) UNECE-CLRTAP and EMEP Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling 27th session, Oslo, May

Past trends in emissions in Europe for BC, and OC : recent change in BC/OC factor UNECE-CLRTAP and EMEP Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling 27th session, Oslo, May 2002 Tg

Future work : zooming on Europe UNECE-CLRTAP and EMEP Task Force on Integrated Assessment Modelling 27th session, Oslo, May 2002 Spatially refined, and improved BC and OC inventories with fuel consumption data from the Convention. Include all relevant aerosols in the radiative transfer model, so as to give a complete picture of the radiative effect of particulate matter for Europe. Simulate different control options for PM and their impact on radiative forcings and visibility reduction.
