Informational Interview By Garret McNichol

General Information I interviewed Simon Greene. He works at Poss Architecture as an architect. Poss Architecture is located at 605 East Main Street Aspen, CO

My Interest In Architecture Ever since I was little designing and building things has always been a passion of mine. At first my favorite toys to play with, growing up, were Legos. I also loved making simple plans and designs that improved upon little things in my life. For example, a plan showing how I am going to rearrange different things in my room.

Getting Involved Ever since I moved here, the only architecture firm that I heard of was Poss Architecture. Turns out, a teacher of mine (Kelly Gordon) happens to be really good friends with Simon Greene who works at Poss Architecture. Kelly gave me his contact information and I asked him if it would be alright to meet and talk about a possible internship over the summer. Simon responded via saying that he would love to meet so we set up a time to meet at his office in town.

Questions During the interview, I mainly asked him questions that gave me a general idea about how is day at work went: Could you describe a typical work day for me? What skills are required on a day to day basis during your time at work? What part of your job do you find most enjoyable? Are there any negatives to your job? About how many hours do you work a week? What is the most challenging part of your day?

Conclusion I found this experience to be very useful to me and I enjoyed it very much. I feel like I found out that I would be interested in further exploring the field of architecture. I found that I feel like I would enjoy working a typical day at Poss Atchitecture.
