Other UK Courses 2013 Safety work practice in Tunnelling 3 day course, Crossrail Place facilitated by Transitions with Crossrail JCP brokerage I joined this course hoping to get a job with the company, I ended up being offered an apprenticeship by Crossrail in irrelevant jobs to me like brick laying or painting ! 2011 Business Administration course Kingston College 2010 London Undergroundcourses LU Access Training course Substation competence and awareness course Track accustomed training Medium Risk Confined Spaces course CSTS 2014 ArcFM, this is a special course with NG that will help me get more professional position in the future

NARIC and IET My university degree is considered comparable to British Bachelor Degree Standard according to NARIC Did not join the IET until now. Not sure about benefits of doing so.

Transitions services Over 20 hours 1-1 advice & guidance Guidance with 7 targetted engineering and administration job applications Range of engineering internships applications – no result Administration internship Circle Housing (3 months part time) Crossrail Tunnelling Safety course TXM Engineering presentation to management Equality Nexus network presentation to participants Workshops: UK Jobsearch Orientation for refugee professionals workshop IET information and advice workshop National Grid information and advice workshop Advisory Seminar

Skills-transfer challenges I faced in the UK -Overseas Engineering degree accreditation: how standardised are the IET and Naric systems for accrediting overseas degrees and matching to British standards? -Overseas experience accreditation: as above. -Getting work placement, job shadowing or apprenticeships for overseas engineers to gain experience & to prove themselves is very hard -Joining a professional body proved to be very confusing -Jobcentre Plus sent me on several vocational courses which didn’t result in progress. The Work Programme didn’t progress things.
