Who are they ? it’s the way people dress, and behave, a lifestyle. The dictionary defines a hippie as one who doesn’t conform to society’s standards and advocates a liberal attitude and lifestyle.

The hippies wanted a world based on peace, love, and happiness. Many times they lived together in small groups called communes, where they worked together. They strongly opposed the American involvement in the Vietnam War and wanted there to be peace.

Hippie style included long, flowing hair for both men and women, and often beards for men. Both men and women commonly wore headbands, beads with blue jeans or bell-bottoms.

How to Dress Like a Hippie 1. They have a flower. 2. Hair is long and "unkempt looking." 3. Women could wear a mini or even micro skirt. 4. Men - Jeans, the grungier the better. Leather vests were big too. 5. For all - vest, jackets, pants, shirts. 6. Peace symbol.

Hippie clothes include: 1. Hip hugger, bell bottom jeans and wide leather belt. 2. Fringed jean bottoms 3. Halter top 4. Headband with flower. 5. Obligatory peace symbol.
