 Aiming for BREEAM “Excellent” rating (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method)  CO 2 emissions: 15.8 kg /m 2 /yr (Typical library = 61kg/m 2 /yr)  50% reduction on Part L2 Building Regulations  Mains water consumption reduced from 5m 3 /person to 1.3m 3 /person  Modelled against expected climate 2020 and 2050 The vision - Sustainability
