Minor seminarians determined to follow the Lord

Thank you for being with us and inspiring us, said the Seminarians.

Meeting a senior Advocate and an RSS leader

Fr. Vijay Nayak, the priest accused for mudering Lakhmanananda Saraswati the Vishwa Hindu Parishad vice president Vicar General Fr. Alphonse From the sharing with the Vicar General Fr. Alphonse and the priests it was clear that there is much disunity among the church leaders in the Catholic Community of the Diocese and also among the different denominations. It is mostly due to money and show of power. In this fight the poor victim of violence suffer.

He had very little to do with the hypocritical, pompous, rich-robed, religious leaders of that day, except when they insisted on annoying Him with their critical questions. Then He would rebuke them publicly and expose them as the "blind leaders of the blind" that they were.

My greatest sorrow is witnessing the disunity among the Church leaders. The Bishop blames CRI leaders and the vice versa. They seem to be only interested in the fund coming and blame game goes on as in the political party. There is also division among the leaders of different denomination. The poor suffering are forgotten. And they even resent visits from people outside the diocese for the fear of others coming to know the truth. Church leadership is unable to go beyond power and craze for fund. A moment united effort is needed the Leaders are not ready for it. The Lord’s last wish expressed before his death, “Father, they may be one remains unheard.

I hear the cry of Jesus in this situation, “My God. My God, why have you abandoned me?” And “I thirst” I thirst to see my Spirit, the spirit of love, moving freely among you, among all the members of the Body. I thirst to see the baptized specially the leaders (shepherds) again become the instrument of unity. I thirst to see the fruit of my offering: Christians united in One Church I hunger for the bread of unity among Christians still divided, coming to share the same bread and the same cup. The bread of Communion where a sense of universal brotherhood/ sisterhood in peace and good will is not realized.

“I thirst!” For justice I hunger and thirst for the spring of justice and peace where violence threatens, where respect for the rights of persons, of families and of peoples, does not exist. I hunger for the bread of true freedom, where a just religious freedom to profess one’s own faith openly does not exist.

People praying in the broken church building

Let us pray the Easter may bring a sense of awareness to establish peace among all the people, said Mrs. Kodam Pulo Nayak, a widower whose husband Pastor Samuel Nayak was brutally murdered in front of her by the mob on August 27, Mrs. Nayak is still living in the Montakia camp for the last five months and earlier she was in G.Udaigiri camp.
