TO SERVE WITH PRIDE AND DEDICATION SCOPE… Landing Gear & Brake System -Brake System Schematic Main Wheel Assembly - Undercarriage

TO SERVE WITH PRIDE AND DEDICATION LANDING GEAR & BRAKE SYSTEM -Brake System Schematic (for Piper PA ) Main wheels Hydraulic cylinders Master cylinder Hydraulic reservoir Brake fluid is stored here. Pilot must check the quantity of brake fluid while carrying out external checks. Parking brake lever Pull back this handle slightly and release it forward (while aircraft is stationary) to engage parking brake. Brake units The 2 main wheels are equipped with a single disc hydraulic brake assembly (brake unit). Brake toe pedals The brake units are connected to individual hydraulic cylinders, which in turn are attached to and controlled by a rudder pedal (brake toe pedal) each.

TO SERVE WITH PRIDE AND DEDICATION MAIN WHEEL ASSEMBLY -Undercarriage (for Piper PA ) The aircraft has a tricycle non-retractable landing gear. Nose landing gear Main landing gear

TO SERVE WITH PRIDE AND DEDICATION What to check for during external checks on nose and main landing gear… a)Condition of each gear - Oleo extension: Main landing gears approximately 4.5 +/ inches. Nose landing gear approximately / inches. Hydraulic fluid line Brake disc Brake unit

TO SERVE WITH PRIDE AND DEDICATION b)Tyres - Condition: Check for cuts, cracks and flat spots. - Check for creep. Indicate creep mark coincide Indicate creep mark out-of-limit c)Brake Assembly - Condition - No leakage of brake fluid - Proper inflation of each tyre.
