What really happened… When 2 identical washers were pushed towards each other with equal force, they bounced back equally.

When two different sized washers pushed toward each other collided, the larger one stopped and the smaller one bounced backwards.

When 1 washer was pushed into a row of 4 similar washers, the one on the end was pushed away.

When a large washer was pushed into a small stationary washer, the small washer was pushed away.

When a small washer was pushed into a stationary large washer, the small washer bounced backward.

16 What really happened… When a washer was pushed into a stack of similar washers, the bottom washer was pushed away and replaced by the new washer.

What conclusion can you draw from the sliding washers lab? A.An object’s force, mass, and acceleration determine how objects react in collisions. B.When objects collide, an object with less mass will react more. C.Gravity and friction influence how objects react during collisions. Add these to the bottom of your lab sheet.
