Aviation forecaster Qualifications and competencies

Purpose Update you on the status of the discussions regarding aviation meteorologist competencies and qualifications

Outcomes NMHSs ready to show their aviation forecasters met or exceed the minimum competencies to be mandated by WMO / ICAO My participation in this workshop will lead to a collaborative effort between WMO and EUMETCAL in preparing competency based training and assessment methods and resources for aviation forecasters.

Summary If you are a met provider for avaition services you need to be prepared to meet the WMO / ICAO requirements by Nov 2013 WMO would be interested to work with EUMETCAL if you were going to prepare resources to help your members meet these requirements AND were willing to share them with the WMO community.
