Write Fractions

Problem of the Day Jennifer hid half of her birthday money in the dresser drawer. The other half she put in her jewelry box. If she hid $8 in the drawer, how much money did she get for her birthday?

Creating Wholes out of Unit Fractions  Your job is to represent 1 whole using the materials I provide you.  I will show you a “Unit fraction” you will have to show us what the whole fraction would look like with that unit.  For example if 1 pencil equaled 1 tenth what would 10 tenths look like?  I will choose students randomly, if you are not comfortable showing what the whole of the unit fraction looks like you can pass and I will choose another student.  Thumbs up if you understand.

Making Unit Fractions WHOLE  ½ (Sticky notes)  1/3 (Pencils)  ¼ (Cotton balls)  1/5 (Small post its)  1/6 (construction paper)  1/8 (dry erase markers)  1/10 (Playing cards)

Problem Set WEEEEEE….. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!
