7 Consultation Questions

Consultation Question FIVE: What areas of sustainable development need to be prioritised in the next strategy? Adaptation to climate change and adverse weather events Energy and use of resources (e.g. waste and water) Commissioning for sustainable services Medical instruments and equipment Models of carePharmaceuticals Research and developmentSocial Value TechnologyOther? DEEP DIVE EXERCISE: “As a group select one area that you believe must be included in the next strategy. For this area use the template on your table to outline the area chosen, what are the opportunities for progress in this area by 2020 and the practical actions that could be included in the strategy to make these things happen”

Deep Dive Exercise Template Example Organisation/Network:SDU examplePriority Area:Travel Date completed:01/01/13Contact Vision to 2020 for this area: Health and care organisations are exemplar in leading the population-wide shift to more active and low carbon travel such as public transport, cycling and walking. What are the opportunities by 2020: Incentivise Active Travel How can this be achieved by 2020: 1.Flat rate for business mileage regardless of engine size or modal option (e.g. walking, cycling, car) 2.Removal of car parking subsidies 3.Interest-free loans for cycles, equipment and season ticket purchase

Consultation Question FIVE: What areas of sustainable development need to be prioritised in the next strategy? Proposal for the next strategy 1.To build on the Carbon Reduction Strategy by focussing on carbon reduction areas that are likely to have the highest impact. 2.To understand what transformational changes are needed in order to move towards sustainable models of care. 3.To broaden the focus from carbon reduction to other areas of sustainable development that are key to a sustainable and low carbon system, for instance adaptation to climate change and incorporating social value into plans.
