INCIDENT MANAGEMENT DIVISION Mission The 20-person Incident Management Division at Sector Columbia River responds to all pollution threats along the Columbia River, and the coastlines and navigable waters of Oregon and southern Washington state. VEHICLE IN COLUMBIA RIVER Marine Drive, Portland, OR – Oct. 7, 2014 Unrecoverable amount (est. 1 gal. gas) after car accident; vehicle removed from Columbia River in <2 hours.

GROUNDED 18’ VESSEL Chinook Day Park, WA – Oct. 14, gallons of gas; approx. 2 gallons miscellaneous oils

F/V TITAN Cape Disappointment, WA – Dec. 5, 2014 F/V TITAN ran aground on “A” Jetty on 05DEC15 with 40-50k lbs of crab, 3,500 gal of diesel, 700 gal of hydraulic, and 400 gal of lube oil onboard. All personnel rescued. Global Marine & Salvage hired by RP for salvage and clean-up operations. Inclement weather prevented successful dive operations.

Inclement weather thwarted all dive, salvage, & towing ops. F/V TITAN now rests at a location north and west of its original grounding location and is considered a total loss. F/V TITAN Cape Disappointment, WA – Dec. 5, 2014

F/V CAP’N OSCAR Astoria, OR (Tongue Point) – Feb. 5, 2015 Port of Astoria assumed ownership & had been working salvage plan. Vsl sank at pier on Feb. 5 and IMD assisted port with technical expertise on booming. Vsl removed from Columbia River.

U.S. COAST GUARD SECTOR COLUMBIA RIVER OSC Report – Feb. 10, 2015 Sector Columbia River has issued 7 Notices of Violation (NOV) and 15 Letters of Warning (LOW) since the last RRT in October (slightly above average). Usually, IMD responders see on average 1-2 mystery drums per month … this period, it was 5 per month.
