VIBRATION SOLUTIONS Australian Distributors for Security Locknut Inc. Worlds Strongest Locknut

Security Locknuts are designed so that the insert raises away from the nut body upon application. This creates “isolation” from the load where the nut body carries the load and the insert does the locking, regardless of your ability to achieve “perfect” preload. Metal locking insert made with proprietary metal and processing techniques for maximum performance Industry standard nut body with features for locking insert Locking insert pressed into the nut body and ready for installation on a bolt Unique - One Part / Two Piece Design

Locking insert lifts and separates from the main nut body on the base and side walls when the bolt is installed. This separation isolates the clamping load from the locking function Unique - One Part / Two Piece Design

FeaturesBenefits Easy installation No special tool required for installation Reusable Can be reused Easy removal for maintenance and serviceability No thread galling or cold welding Vibration resistant Holds bolted joint tight under heavy vibration conditions Use in extreme environments Effective in temperatures to 400°C Effective in high acidic or other chemical environments Locking in any position on bolt No clamping torque necessary to achieve locking function One part Reduced installation cost Doesn’t require special machining operations, pin, or holes Product Features and Benefits

MethodDetails Installed and tested on real world applications Every year millions of Security Locknuts are installed on hundreds of products operating in a wide range of environments. IFI 100/107 Standards for Prevailing Torque Locknuts The Security Locknut meets or exceeds the Industrial Fastener Institute 100/107 Standards. This standard establishes the dimensional, mechanical, and performance requirements for prevailing-torque type steel nuts NASM Test for fastener performance in vibration conditions The Security Locknut has been tested using this accelerated life test. A summary of the test details are shown on the following pages. 50 on/off testTest measures the prevailing locknuts ability to maintain its function after installation and removal up to 50 time. Security Locknut outperforms all tested competitors. Product Performance

NASM Vibration Test Fixture design with slots to test various size products 2 slots per size for side by side competitive product testing Colored assembly shown is free to move up and down within the fixture slot Fixture mounted to machine capable of vibrating with a frequency of 1,800 cycles per second with an amplitude of inches (peak to peak)

NASM Vibration Test Follow up Testing and Product Development: After detailed examination of locknut conditions required to maintain maximum bolt tension under heavy vibration conditions we were able to isolated design parameters that had the most significant impact. Follow up design changes on select products produced results on the vibration test that exceed all other products tested. Initial Test Results: The Security Locknut performs better than or equal to all other prevailing torque locknuts at preventing joint loosening (other products tested include Nyloc, 3-point deformed, and Flexloc). The Security Locknut out performs all other locknuts by staying securely connected the bolt after the initial tension is lost. This has proved to be a significant benefit on installations where complete separation of the nut and bolt would cause machinery down time or a potential safety issue.
