The Parallel Instruction model In this setting, the class is divided into two groups and each teacher is responsible for teaching the same material to her/his smaller group. The Parallel Instruction model in the classroom An early childhood class is working in teams to produce videos about child-proofing a home. Each teacher oversees a team, working with the students to instruct them about child safety in the home and what parents can do to make their homes safe. Each teacher also incorporates reading strategies instruction into their lessons. Section #5: Parallel Instruction

Activity: With your teaching partner, brainstorm instructional activities specifically linked to the subject or program you plan to teach where you could use Parallel Instruction.
