Date: Page: 4 DISKOS database The concept of a national data repository was conceived in 1992 by NPD and the three Norwegian oil companies Hydro, Saga and Statoil. Data of known quality delivered on agreed data formats Official quality approved cultural data from NPD Seismic and navigational data Well data Production data Archive data The NPD and the majority of the oil companies who operates on the Norwegian continental shelf have direct online access to the database Non-members can purchase data on media There is strict control of all access rights to the database

O&E organization must place an order to IH (Information & Ordering database)

Date: Page: 14 IS Project ”International seismic to Petrobank” In 2003 Hydro started internal discussion to find a better solution for managing international data WHY ! Norsk Hydros internationale seismic database is growing. Times with high turnaround, and a lot of changing in the organisation. Each Business Unit manage seismic data differently Many storage solution ; Petrobank solution (Petrodata), Tape archive (Geotjenester), project database (Geoframe), corporate datastore and ”shelf and cabinets” G&G want one common GIS view for seismic, navigation & velocity No standard data management routines has been established

Date: Page: 15 IS Project ”International seismic to Petrobank” - GOAL Make ”Petrobank” a primary datasource for Navigation,Velocity and Seismic Same solution as for the Norwegian DISKOS database Use same routines internally as established and approved by the O&E organisation operating on Norwegian continental shelf Increased access, backup of data, quick and easy overview Commen graphical user interface All 2D/3D navigation combined gives a far better overview and a very good startingpoint for new areas To be able to handle the navigation challenge international (datum problems)

Date: Page: 16 IS Project ”International seismic to Petrobank” - EVALUATION PROCESS Total datavolume seismic (around 2,7 Tb ) 2D/3D surveys (around 1500 ) Based on two written offers: SINAS (Schlumberger) and PETRODATA SINAS - Maintenance must be paid to Landmark if SINAS (DISKOS) Petrobank will be used for international data PETRODATA - Have their own license which can be used Technical advantages - Both can connect to other internal oracle DB’s by PowerExplorer After a long Internal discussion we choose SINAS

Date: Page: 17 IS Project ”International seismic to Petrobank” Late 2004 Hydro decided to start the project A steering group and a project group was establish The work will be perfomed by IH,Geotjenester and SINAS Collect international navigation/velocity and seismic data on tapes at Notodden (Tapemaster), in Finder and Geoframe. Store this data in international database (Petrobank) The work will be performed according to the steering groups priorities as long as the budget last Priorities will be given by the business according to the followings: 2d navigation all areas Stacking velocity all areas 3d navigation all areas 2d/3d seismic priorities areas The quantity of 2D and 3D navigation, velocity and seismic are investigated area by area as the project rolls forward. Therefore we do not know how much we manage to transfer at the start of the project.

Date: Page: 18 Project schedule Initial activities/kick off performed PHASE I - TRANSFER NAVIGATION TO PETROBANK Transfer 2D navigation Prioritize further work (seismic/velocity/3d navigation) Decision in Steering committee PHASE 2 – VELOCITY,3D NAVIGATION,CORRECTIONS Fixing 2D navigation problems Transfer 3D navigation and correcting nav. prob. Transfer 2D & 3D velocity PHASE 3 – PREPARE SEISMIC TRANSFER Detail overview over scope of seismic transfer Budget for next year (2D/3D seismic) Final QC – Update TapeMaster Close down project (within 30/12) J F M A M J/J A S Q4
