Power Form Selection Function – Provide autonomous power to ground sensor Forms – Batteries – Solar – Wind – Hardwired AC Based on the requirement of having the sensor be self powered and maintain an operational life beyond 60 days, the only viable form is battery power coupled with a replenishing solar cell. Other forms do not meet the interests of the stakeholders with today's available technology.

UGS Selection Based on the top level functions and requirements, the forms selected are: – Ground Sensor (Detect Intrusion) – PIR, Vibration, Acoustic, Magnetic Sensors (Detect personnel and vehicles) – Wi-Fi comms (Alert of Intrusion) Once the top level forms were selected then additional form to function mapping was completed. The final step will be to map specific forms to each function and do another AoA based on specific requirements.

Hardware Mapping The following charts are the initial form mapping to the functions of the system These basic form placeholders will then be determined in the hardware design phases. For example – Processor System – Mote CPU would be the Mica2Dot Mote by Crossbow Technologies. Process System Mote CPU Process System Mote CPU Mica2Dot Mote Form Specified Form/Hardware Solution
