Presentation transcript:

ANSWERS 1.Northern Europe would be least affected by the tsunamis as the eastern half of La Palma would protect it. 2. World governments must invest in monitoring equipment in order to forecast the next eruption and be prepared for its effects.

May SUMMARY 1 The text warns us of the disastrous consequences that the next eruption of the volcano Cumbre Vieja, in the Canaries, may bring about. The gigantic waves produced by this eruption could cause tremendous damage. However, a human disaster could be avoided if governments invest in seismic monitoring inside the volcano in order to foresee the eruption and minimize its effects.

May SUMMARY 2 The text tries to explain the consequences of the eruption of Cumbre Vieja, which would be a series of tsunamis that would destroy the east coast of the USA and the north west coast of Africa. The text also explains what the governments must do to protect people, which lies in funding seismic monitoring inside the volcano to be able to predict the next eruption and take measures. (Pablo Fernández)

May SUMMARY 3 When the volcano Cumbre Vieja, in the Canaries, erupts, one of its sides will fall into the sea and this will cause tsunamis which will destroy many parts of countries in Africa and America. However, if the world governments invest in monitoring equipment to be installed inside the volcano, scientist will know when Cumbre Vieja will erupt and avoid a human disaster. (Estefanía Reyes)

May SUMMARY 4 If one day the most active volcano in the Canaries, Cumbre Vieja, erupts and one side of it falls into the sea, it will generate enormous waves that could cause a lot of damage. But if governments finance seismic monitoring, we will be able to predict when it will happen and take measures. (Ulises López)
