Presentation transcript:

An impact that is greater than the sum of all the parts

The seven Dynamics are…  Not a curriculum  Not a style of worship Instead they are…  The practicalities of seeking, discerning and acting on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, drawing us into active cooperation with the work that Jesus is doing  The spiritual disciplines of allowing the Lord to direct the life of his people and his Church

Foundations – Leaders who embody the reality of the Kingdom of God  Integration into the Body of Christ by being born again;  Information that is “head” knowledge of the Bible and doctrine and “heart” knowledge of Jesus through a living relationship;  Transformation by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit within, creating Christ-like character;  Empowerment by being baptized with the Holy Spirit. A full balance of all these areas is essential and therefore we need to acknowledge and redress the shortcomings in our own particular situation

Foundations – Congregations that are growing to fullness in Christ  Integration – born again  Information – Bible and doctrine  Transformation – Christlike character  Empowerment – baptized in the Spirit

KNOWING THE REAL PRESENCE OF JESUS

Jesus promises his presence “Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

People experience Jesus’ real presence But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, “God is really among you!” What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church. 1 Corinthians 14:24-26

EXPRESSING THE REALITY OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Expressing the reality of the Kingdom of God 1. Empowered preaching and teaching of God’s Word  With opportunities, insights and words supplied by the Holy Spirit, the word of God was declared faithfully and powerfully, impacting lives and enriching people’s understanding. 2. Spirit-led corporate worship, prayer and fellowship  True community of faith, with shared resources, and active participation in worship through exercising spiritual gifts.

Expressing the reality of the Kingdom of God 3. Ministries of prayer, compassion and healing that meet human need.  Healing the sick and oppressed; distributing food for the hungry and finance for the community. 4. Governance and management of the fellowship and the ministries.  Oversight by Apostles, practical arrangements for compassion, appointing Elders for congregations

Expressing the reality of the Kingdom of God 5. Turning converts into disciples of Jesus Christ for life and work in the Kingdom of God  Integrating converts, teaching and involving them in worship and witness; personal letters and visits. 6. Evangelism that extends the Kingdom of God and routs Satan  Taking the Gospel to crowds and individuals, with signs, wonders and miracles.

The Kingdom of God became experiential reality People…  Heard the message of Jesus  Experienced the presence of Jesus  Evidenced the reign of Jesus …and so they…  Became co-workers with Jesus

Acts 1:4–8 “He gave them this command.” are we prepared to obey it? “Wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.” do we believe Jesus’ teaching? “You will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” have we received this baptism? “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;” are we operating in that power? “And you will be my witnesses … to the ends of the earth.”
