Gentiles Join the Journey Acts 10:1-48

Preparation for the Gentiles to be saved (1-22) The Gentiles had to be prepared. The Jews had to be prepared. God used a vision about food to teach Peter that the Gospel is for all people. Peter was no longer to make any distinctions between the Jews and the Gentiles. Salvation was to be presented to the Gentiles.

Situation explained (23-33) Peter proclaimed that the Gentiles were not to be considered unclean. Peter had been summoned to tell these Gentileshow they could be saved. Truths from this encounter: – The idea that "one religion is as good as another" is completely false. – Jesus will find will find the seeking sinner.

Proclamation of the Gospel (34-43) God is no respecter of persons as far as nationality and race are concerned. Peter summarized the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “Everyone who believes in Him will receive forgiveness of sin.”

Confirmation of Salvation (44-48) Peter’s sermon was interrupted. The Holy Spirit was giving witness to the six Jews who were present that these Gentiles were truly born again. With this event, the period of transition in the early history of the church comes to an end.
