Italian loan-words
A capella (a capella) -sung by a group of people without any musical instruments Fountain (fontana) -a stream of water that is forced up into the air through a small hole, especially for decorative effect, or the structure in a lake or pool from which this flows
Pizza (pizza) -a large circle of flat bread baked with cheese, tomatoes, and sometimes meat and vegetables spread on top
Tomato (pomodoro) -a round red sharp-tasting fruit with a lot of seeds which is eaten cooked or raw as a savoury food sword (spada) -a weapon with a long sharp metal blade and a handle, used especially in the past

Kebab (kebap) -a dish consisting of small pieces of meat and vegetables that have been put on a long thin stick or metal rod and cooked together
Yoghurt (yoğurt) -a slightly sour, thick liquid made from milk with bacteria added to it, sometimes sweetened and with a fruit flavour added and sometimes eaten plain
