Invitation To Confession Christ our passover lamb has been sacrificed for us. Let us therefore rejoice by putting away all malice and evil and confessing our sins with a sincere and true heart. (1 Corinthians 5.7,8) We did not listen to your voice Silence Confession Response Leader You called out to us

You follow us, to bring us back You want to be our shepherd Response We walk away from you We have put our trust in those who devour the fold Leader

You leave the ninety and nine and come after us Response Forgive us Lord that we have failed to seek you. Absolution May the risen and living Lord, the good shepherd lift us up out of sin and bring us to new life in him. Amen.

Gloria Glory to God in the Highest, and peace to God’s people on earth. Lord God, heavenly Sovereign, Almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord, Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God,

you take away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. You are seated at the right hand of the Father; receive our prayer. For you alone are the holy one, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the most high Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen

Collect God of peace, by the blood of the eternal covenant you brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, that good shepherd of the sheep by whom the lost are sought and guided; into the fold; feed us and we shall be satisfied, heal us

and we shall be made whole, and lead us to make us perfect in every good work to do your will; through Jesus Christ our Good Shepherd to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Ministry Of The Word

In place of Old Testament Acts. 2: They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles. 44All who believed were together and had all things in common

45 they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

Reader This is the word of the Lord Response Thanks be to God Psalm 23 Silence The King of love my Shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never, I nothing lack if I am His And He is mine forever.

Where streams of living water flow My ransomed soul He leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth. Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love He sought me, And on His shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing, brought me In death’s dark vale I fear no ill With Thee, dear Lord, beside me; Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me.

Thou spread’st a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth; And O what transport of delight From Thy pure chalice floweth! And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never; Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house forever.

New Testament 1 Peter 2: 19 – 25 19For it is to your credit if, being aware of God, you endure pain while suffering unjustly. 20If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, where is the credit in that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God’s approval. 21For to this you have been called, because Christ also

suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps. 22 ‘He committed no sin,and no deceit was found in his mouth.’ 23When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly. 24He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross,

so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 25For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

Silence Reader This is the word of the Lord Response Thanks be to God Hymn Gospel Acclamation Hallelu Yah! “I am the gate. Whoever comes in by me will be saved; they will come in and go out and find pasture. (Jn10:9) 164

Gospel John 10: Response Glory to Christ Our Saviour Very truly, I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the gate but climbs in by another way is a thief and a bandit. 2The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

4When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5They will not follow a stranger, but they will run from him because they do not know the voice of strangers.’ 6Jesus used this figure of speech with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.

7 So again Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8All who came before me are thieves and bandits; but the sheep did not listen to them. 9I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Reader This is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ ResponsePraise to Christ our Lord Sermon

Affirmation Of Faith Let us declare our faith in the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ: Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures; he was buried; was raised to life on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures; afterwards he appeared to his followers, and all the Apostles: this we have received and this we believe.

Intercessions

Jesus is the good shepherd who binds the wounds and heals the broken and feeds the hungry. The peace of the Lord be with you. Introduction to The Greeting of Peace Leader The peace of the Lord be always with you. And Also With You Response Hymn 382

But chiefly are we bound to praise you because you raised him gloriously from the dead. For he is the true paschal lamb who was offered for us, and has taken away the sin of the world. By his death he had destroyed death, and by his rising to life again he has restored to us everlasting life. Proper Preface Hymn 111
