Project Manager Interviews Establishing and communicating clear objectives and goals is most important task. Changing customer requirements and conflicting organizational priorities were biggest challenges. Enjoyed Responsibility and sense of accomplishment. Be truthful, having integrity, work recognition earn you respect from the team members. Communicate regularly, be honest. Sponsors hate surprises. Formal training, interpersonal skills, and mentoring.

Evaluation of VPMi software Has several other services and features that Microsoft Project lacks  Project status reporting and health indicators  Full customization capabilities  Issue management  Risk management  Project management Produce documents such as status report with one click of a button Allows several members to log on and access the same company or team project information with access levels (1 to 4)

Evaluation of VPMi software Complicated and can not be relied on  Time consuming  Some features do not work (“Enter Time”)  Server breakdowns (“page cannot be found”) VPMi is a nice project management product but  Needs to be more user friendly  Needs to make features more reliable  It is meant for career project managers

How closely did we follow the plan? All project milestones met Projected hours worked < Actual hours worked Team members completed assigned tasks by end date to ensure timely completion of project

Deliverables Project Charter Team Contract Work Breakdown Structure Gantt Chart & Network Diagram Cost Estimates & Earned Value Analysis Project Notebook & Reports Team Website

What Went Wrong? Initial confusion about the scope of project Team member resigned Schedule conflicts VPMI Server access reliability Poor response to Project Manager interviews
