Learning Centres in Iceland Each of the nine Centres is set up in its own way Managed jointly by the municipality and the educational and employment sectors in the region. The program the Centres offer differ as each centre is responsible for identifying the need in its region Acting as a broker between those who need courses in a particular field and those who can offer courses in that field Or they organize courses and programmes of their own

Central Aim and Objectives Reinforce the working sector and the society with lifelong learning Facilitate access to lifelong learning in order to elevate the standard of settlement in the region and contribute to the regional development in the area Bring learning closer to home To lead and take initiative to learning with diverse goals and approaches Promote lifelong learning Elevate the educational standard in rural areas

The activities Short or long courses ICT, languages Recreational courses like kayak and sewing Offer companies systematic planning of staff development and regular follow-up of this. Tailor made courses for companies Second Chance Schools Deliver remote university studies and support university students
