Eminent professors and specialists who are willing to discuss issues of cooperation on “ Management of Higher Education and Scientific Research ” Between Egypt, Arab World, and Germany.

SHAPING THE FUTURE The UN General Assembly declared the years to be the World decade of education for sustainable development. This decision to give promotion of education for sustainable development top priority, which require new education policy and develop International co-operation between North and South Universities.

Over the recent decades, strategic planning has been carried out by Cairo University (CU)- not only by its managerial office but also by its faculties and departments. As stated in this plan, the mission and vision of CU are as follows:.

Research plan for developing industrial sectors (Science Park). Improving the Scientific infrastructure. Information and Computer Science.

RUNNING PROJECTS WITHIN THE DIES PROGRAM PHASE II: STRATEGIC PLAN FOR HIGHER EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT The two universities are planning to expand their cultural cooperation in the region area including Africa, Arab World, and Europe. The goals are: Unification of higher education system. Establishing a training program for higher education management. Technology transfer to strengthen higher education reform activities. Capacity building of human resources. Increasing the efficiency of the scientific research infrastructure.

Needs Assessment Diverse, pressing, and contradictory challenges faced by higher education require more complex and higher level leadership, management, and administration. New generation of administrators required to undertake strategic administrative and management functions (e.g. strategic planning, quality assurance, human resources, marketing,, academic development, student welfare,….). In more permeable higher education systems, act as “translators” operate at interface of academic heartland and corporate and administrative centers, link internal higher education with external stakeholders.

The ability to think and plan strategically especially in relation to problem solving. Develop a professional view of management tasks and processes in expert organization. The ability to use research and analytical methodologies appropriately and the potential to move to doctoral study. The ability to integrate knowledge, handle complexity, formulate judgment and communicate them to a wider audience.
