1 The Hong Kong Society for the Blind Career Support and Development Centre Rotary Club of Happy Valley Internship Programme for Visually Impaired people

2 Programme Objective Help the visually impaired people (VI) enhance their working skill and ability Help the VI regain self-confidence Develop individual potential for reintegrating into the community

3 Target Group 2 blind people 4 low vision people Minimum of secondary education

4 Programme Details Hong Kong Society For The Blind (HKSB) will provide: Arrange 3 months intensive training including: 1.Social Skills Training: Enhancing personal appearance, interpersonal skills, etc. 2.IT Training: Application of Computer software e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook Express, internet services etc. 3.Writing Skills: Note taking, memo, proposal drafting etc. (The training will be tailor made to match the job requirements so that the trainees will be well prepared before taking up their positions)

5 Programme Details Provide the adaptive equipment to the enterprise if necessary e.g. CCTV, Power Braille etc. “Coach” will accompany the trainee 1. For the first day or two, to orientate the trainee in the new work environment. 2. To act as the contact point for the employer for any situations which may require assistance from the “coach”.

6 Programme Details Rotary Club of Happy Valley (RCHV) will provide: Coordinate with the enterprises to arrange 3 months internship for VI Sponsor daily allowance for the VI

7 Programme Details Remark: The enterprise has no obligation to employ the trainees after the 3 months internship
