WardInHand An overview of the WardInHand System

What is WardInHand? An advanced, easy to use, secure mobile application. Support healthcare professionals in their day-to-day activities. Allow ward staff to create, edit and display patient information. A workflow management system (WMS). Keeps track of actions planned by ward staff. Dispatches tasks to staff for completion. Configurable to hospital procedures.

WardInHand Objectives Significantly reduce inconveniences of paper handling and repeated transcriptions. Improve Quality. Provide doctors and nurses with an advanced and easy to use IT tool. Access/Update patient data at the place/time they need Improve Productivity. Coordinate actions by the means of a configurable workflow engine.

Healthcare Quality More time for direct patient care. Quicker access to information. Elimination of errors due to paper handling and duplication. Increased safety level in hospitals. Improved security of clinical information. Better experience for patients.

Healthcare Costs Currently 30% - 50% of working time is wasted. Freeing this time will increase the quality of healthcare without increasing costs. WIH aims to save up to 50% of this time wastage. An equivalent increase to additional spending of 20% - 50%. For the EU as a whole that is equivalent to more than 36 billion euros.

Efficiency Patients dealt with faster. Reduce lengths of stay in hospitals by 10%. Reduce waiting list times for beds. Increasing the number of patients that can be treated. An extra 12.8 million hospital places in the EU per year. Helping hospitals cope with growth in population without additional cost.

Security Manager Preventing unauthorised access Securely transmit data between server and client. Authentication with digital certificates. Unauthorised devices unable to interact with the server. Restricting Access Allows user accounts to be created within WIH. User accounts have a level of authority assigned to them. Determines what operation the user may perform. Determines what records a user can view

Legacy Integration Module Allows WardInHand to link with Hospital Systems. Links to almost any hospital patient information system. Can import and export in four main formats: ODBC XML HL7 Text-delimited
