Objective Collaborative work with groupware systems is a dynamic process where many tasks in different application domains are carried out We try to establish a framework that analyses collaborative activities and resulting products in groupware systems

Related Works Our work began with the identification, in our experiences with CSCL systems (Bravo et al., 2006) as well as in other related works (Avouris et al., 2004; Barros et al., 2001) of the elements that should be conceptualized in an analysis process These relevant concepts and relations were organized in four specifications: collaborative task, application domain, collaborative work, and model of analysis

Collaborative Task A task is specified as a set of formal requirements and constraints that must be fulfilled by the final product, which is a design model...

Application Domain In order that the analysis process can be carried out independently of the application domain of the system, it is necessary to create a generic conceptual model that supports the definition of any domain

Collaborative work The actions of each individual are classified according to its nature, so that when the group finishes the collaborative work it is possible to distinguish the actions carried out by each individual

Model of Analysis It specifies the procedure used to produce a set of analysis indicators. This method can be based on machine-learning techniques (Duque et al., 2006b; Duque et al., 2007) or on an expert specification (Bravo, 2002)

Applying the analysis procces

Conclusions In our work, an analysis process uses (i) the collaborative task, (ii) the process of collaborative work, (iii) the application domain underlying the system, and (iv) the analysis process that infers indicators that characterize the work actions and products produced

Future lines The analyses process will be used to inference analysis indicators in real time This will allow incorrect actions or processes of product building to be detected, and the users will be informed in order to change their behaviour
