IPS’s database is organized into a series of entities. Person, Client, Agent, Examiner, Underwriter, Insurance Company, Broker , Each entity has a unique number, a unique name, and a set of attributes that describe it. Examining Company, Exam Order, Lab, Test Type, Questionnaire.
Examining Company has a network of independent Examiners who performed paramedical exam on prospect Client of Insurance Company. Examiner gathers specimen from Client, and passes it to the Lab for testing. Lab then passes the test results directly to Insurance Company underwriters for risk assessment. IPS has contracts with multiple Examining Companies, each of which has contracts with multiple Insurance Companies. We keep track of the different Insurance Companies that each Examining Company has contract with. We also store the general information of Examining Company like address for billing purposes.
An Agent may represent multiple Insurance Company through Brokers by contracts. Client purchases insurance policy from Agent, who then submits Exam request of Test Types based on the policy purchased to IPS along with Client’s information for medical evaluation. IPS then assigns Client to an Examiner according to the Exam requested. A Client may be recommended by multiple Agents. IPS stores each Client’s personal information such as name, social security number, policy requested, address, phone number, and birthday. IPS also keeps track of the completed and uncompleted Test Types that requested for the Clients. In addition, IPS tracks Client status, Examiner assignment, Exam schedule, Agent success rate, and billing in order to maximize efficiency and profit.
