INTRODUCTION – Healthcare, Industry, Research and Development (HIR&D) Technical advancement Health Care improvement and human society increasingly influence HIR&D Impact of emerging knowledge of HIR&D The confidence of student and changing scenario 2

Students confidence level is low Rapid growth in this field Our responsibility to educate the pharmacy student about potential impact of the these area To examine HIR&D content in current pharmacy curriculum 3

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY To analyze the present Pharmacy curriculum of our University and to evaluate whether it meets the requirement of the International Pharmacy education 4

PLAN OF THE STUDY To evaluate the object a survey was conducted in selected colleges affiliated to Medical University Semi structural questionnaires are circulated to 100 randomly selected students The results discussed on the impact of the educational system 5

DETAILS OF THE SURVEY To collect data for study – 18 questions were asked Circulated to final year U.G and P.G students Questioners include Object Instruction Contact information Parts of questions 6

Questioners were divided in 3 parts First part focused on – Health care  Specificity  Area and quantity  Updation Second part focused on – Industrial Pharmacy  Regulatory laws  Type of training Third part focused on – R&D  Methodology  Industrial project 7

Pharmacy Practice: 52% are interested to include clinical trial, drug information, therapeutic drug monitoring etc., Industrial Pharmacy: 62% insist to include industrial training in the curriculum Research & Development: 74% of the students like to have research oriented activities in the curriculum 10

Other observations:  Present curriculum should be altered  Present knowledge should be updated with current trends  Nano technology, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, proteiomics must be included in the curriculum  Regulatory affairs must be included  Along with industry orientation emphasize to clinical opportunities to be given 11

CONCLUSION The study report recommends the board of studies of the University to  Include newer subject content  Update the curriculum for every 3 years  Teach recent development in all areas 12
