OBS Architecture OBSD  Storage components of the system to be shared  Disk drives, RAID subsystems, tape drives, optical drives, or other storage devices Initiator device  Application clients, issue OSD commands to access the OBSD Service delivery subsystem  Used by components in OBS model to intercommunicate, usually iscsi protocol

OBS Architecture Policy/Storage manager  Coordinates access constraints between OSD device servers and application clients  Prepares the capabilities application clients places in CDB to gain access to OSD objects Security manager
