They lodge a complaint to the travel agency ‘Star Holidays’ about: –the bus (‘the bus broke down on our way there’) – the accomodation (‘the hotel was overbooked and we had to wait in a long line for food’) –the tourist guide (‘was impolite and did not know much Macedonian’) Arguments: –situation is taken from real life (they have found themselves in the same or similar situation) –Spoken interaction –Building their vocabulary in terms of TRAVEL

Ideas for further development To read interesting and authentic fiction texts, which I consider challenging Reading without thinking about linguistic aspects of the text and grammar rules To discuss with others on themes of the texts I have read To enhance the motivation and ceativity for expressing yourself in the foreign language

Summary of Ideas Tasks –Create blogs (for whom) –Create a school magazine (for whom?) –Complain about holiday (in what language?) –Describe and perform school celebration (for friends abroad?) –Watch films (and find arguments why everybody should see this film?) –Organize a singing competition –Set up a knowledge quiz (on...?) –Discuss on themes of several articles (and summarize the main idea in those articles?) Tasks Communication with friends (chat) Select cartoons (with a special theme) and explain what is on it and why you have chosen this cartoon

Summary of Ideas Activitities –Listen to popular songs –See all kinds of movies –Reading texts (authentic, challenging (i+1), without grammar rules) –Write articles on special topics (fashion) –Looking for specific information Arguments Building a vocabulary Enhancing motivation for expressing yourself Real life situations

Summary of Ideas Materials to be used –Articles (in newspapers) –DVD’s –Cartoons –Jokes –Poems –songs Organisation –Roles (3 and 1) –Demands on content of school magazine
